It can be very easy to fall into the ‘latte in the morning’ and ‘chocolate in the afternoon’ routine if you work in an office. These two protein shake recipes are great alternatives to take with you to work and stick in the fridge for your morning or afternoon tea.

Maca Powder tastes really nice. It is one of my new favorite flavours. It also boasts a range of health benefits including supporting the nervous system, digestive system, reproductive system and help to reduce adrenal stress to bring our bodies back in to balance.

The protein power I use in these recipes is Sun Warrior Vanilla power. It is great tasting and is 100% raw vegan, 83% pure protein, has a complete Amino Acid Profile, is hypoallergenic, Non-GMO and gluten free. iHerb is a great place to pick up products like this that really aren’t readily available in shops outside of the United States.

Mango Maca Smoothy

1 cup coconut milk
1 heaped teaspoon maca powder
1 scoop Sun Warrior Vanilla protein powder
¼ cup fresh or frozen mango

Combine ingredients and blitz in the blender until smooth. Serve chilled.

Chocolate Maca Shake

1 cup organic rice milk
1 heaped teaspoon organic cocoa powder
1 heaped teaspoon maca powder
1 scoop Sun Warrior Vanilla protein powder

Add ingredients to a shaker beaker and shake vigorously until well combined. Serve chilled.
