Strawberries with Cacao Nibs is one of my favourites at the moment. If you are in Australia you are sure to be enjoying the current strawberry explosion and what better than to combine them with chocolate. I am not talking your sweetened supermarket variety… but the real raw stuff in the form of Cacao Nibs. Through some fresh strawberries in a bowl with a tablespoon of ground Flax Seeds and 1/2 tablespoon of Cacao Nibs and you have one powerful breakfast combo.
I was first introduced to raw chocolate through David Wolfe, one of the worlds leading experts on superfoods, and author of Naked Chocolate. I also caught a really interesting video interview with him on the benefits of cacao with Blythe Metz on Blythe Raw Live.
Cacao nibs are simply shelled and crushed raw chocolate beans. They poses amazingly high levels of antioxidants as well as beta-carotene, amino acids (protein), Omega-3 EFA’s, calcium, zinc, iron, copper, sulfur, potassium, and one of the best food sources of muscle relaxing, stress relieving magnesium. So in a nut shell, pardon the pun, they are going to greatly benefit your health and keep you looking and feeling young.
