Food does so much more than simply sustain us… it brings us together!
This weekend I had the absolute pleasure of joining 80 Australian food bloggers at the Eat Drink Blog 2012 conference in Adelaide for what would be the ultimate eating, drinking, learning and networking experience.
And what better way to kick things off than with desert.
On my first afternoon in Adelaide I met up with a small group of wonderful Sydney based food bloggers to tuck into some exquisite deserts from the newly opened Astonish Patisserie in the city centre. The plates came out one at a time to be first photographed, from every angle, before being savored and discussed at length… As only a food blogger does!
My choice, the wonderfully different, Seasonal Fruit Pizza with Balsamic Ice Cream. Other highlights included the deliciously decant Chocolate Magma, Bombe Alaska and Half Baked Cheese Cake. To finish, refreshingly tart, grapfruit granita topped with fresh fruit, clensed the palet before we geared up for the first large group social meet up over dinner in China Town.
Day 2 from EDB (Adelaide Central Market and d’Arenberg McLaren Vale winery) coming soon…
Such a lovely little place. Great photos Megan!
Thanks Christine!
Lovely photos Megan…truly stunning (must be the company helping your photography along, no)? I really enjoyed Astonish – nothing quite like it in Sydney…and it was lovely to meet you.
Supper yummy. Maybe they will open an Astonish Sydney. Saw that Zumbo has a food truck hitting the Sydney streets soon.
Great pics! Those desserts were gorgeous. Would be great if we had some trendy dessert / wine bars in Sydney too!
James and I are always on the look out for wine bars. Miss our fav little cosy wine nooks from Dublin 🙂
This looks delicious, love your photos! I have added Astonish to my next Adelaide ‘to do’ list. Looking forward to your thoughts on EDB.
Great photos! Now I’d like to go and check that place out… 🙂
Wow, I love your photos. Shame I had no time to check out all those nice places in Adelaide.
Thank you Aga. There is so much to see in Adelaide. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
