Hi Kay, maybe try soaking it for a shorter time. Also, perhaps try a different brand of rolled oats. Hope this helps!

I've been making oat milk for years and I find your recipe better than my plain one. I usually make it by the glass . 1tbs to 12oz of water. Let sit for 2hrs. Stir with whisk 3 min, strain oats and add cinnamon and stevia. Then enjoy over ice.

Thank you for your question Aimee.
It is always a good idea to soak oats before you eat them. Please read my previous post for the explanation: http://www.veggiesandme.com/porridge-with-extra-goodness/
Best of luck with making your own oat milk. You will love it!

I love oat milk but its expensive and i can taste that UTI flavour. Really excited to try this. Just wondering what's the purpose for soaking it overnight?

Oh, I'm so glad I stumbled on this post today! This whole week I've been wanting to make some oat milk, but wasn't sure whether I should use rolled or whole/steel-cut oats. Now. it's definitely happening this week-end - I recently discovered non-dairy milks and I'm enjoying trying out different ones.
I do have a question though - do you have any ideas on what to do with the leftover oats after squeezing the milk from them, instead of just throwing them away? Thanks in advance and happy week-end! :)
