Meet Yoshiko Takeuchi, the big smile behind Healthy Soy Cooking School. This weekend I had the pleasure of being one of Yoshiko’s students at her Bondi Cooking School. Yoshiko’s more than 10 years experience as a chef and cooking teacher is very apparent straight away. She holds the perfect combination of wit, charm and knowledge, drawing you in with her love of healthy food and japanese flavours.
I have always liked Japanese food and have been lucky enough to visit Japan twice. My absolute favourite dish is Gyoza so when I saw this healthy Gyoza cooking class advertised I jumped at the chance to learn the skill. Not only did I learn how to fold these beautiful parcels of Japanese goodness and the technique for achiving their wonderful cooked texture but I learned three healthy and vegetarian variations. Awesome!
During the class we learned how to make a Tofu and Wakame Salad with a seriously flavorful sesame dressing, two different veggie packed Remen noodle Soups, variations of Gyoza with two tasty sauces and a “to die for” vegan Black Sesame Blancmange desert with Strawberries.
